Discover what hides inside your documents

A shared photo or PDF attachment often carries far more than what you see: GPS coordinates, camera model, editing software, author, dates or internal keywords. These traces can reveal a place, an identity or a workflow you did not mean to publish.

  • GPS baked into the image — a weekend outing can expose a precise address.
  • Camera body and lens — gear details can remain readable years after you post.
  • PDF history — author, producer and dates show who created the document.
  • Software and edits — proof of a tool you might prefer to keep private.
  • Keywords and subjects — internal fields that point to unannounced projects or clients.

Flownect reads this metadata locally, highlights what matters, then lets you remove or rewrite fields before you download a copy ready to publish.

Supported formats

Images (JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, HEIC, BMP, SVG), PDF, audio (MP3, WAV, FLAC), video (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM), Office documents (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX), ZIP archives and GLB/GLTF models. Full cleaning is prioritized for images and PDF; other formats are detected for the product roadmap.

Questions fréquentes

Is the original file changed on my device?

No. The tool works on an in-memory copy in your browser. Your original file stays unchanged: download the cleaned copy to use it elsewhere.

Are my files sent over the internet?

No. Analysis, cleaning and downloads run entirely in your browser. No API, database or Flownect server storage.

How do I know the cleaning worked?

The report compares metadata counts and warnings before/after, plus file size. You can also reopen the downloaded copy here or with a local EXIF inspector: GPS, camera and software fields should be gone.

Which formats are supported today?

Full cleaning is available for raster images (JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, HEIC depending on browser, SVG) and PDF. Video, audio, Office, ZIP and GLB files are detected for progressive analysis; full processing is rolling out over time.

Does cleaning reduce visual quality?

For raster images, redrawing via Canvas keeps dimensions and visual quality. Metadata is removed without aggressive recompression. PDFs are rewritten locally with no server upload.

Can I edit fields instead of removing everything?

On PDFs you can set title, author and subject before export. On images, cleaning removes sensitive data; advanced XMP/IPTC reinjection will expand in future releases.
